WORLDESCAPE SATELLITE RADIO ..........END OF THE LINE

Honestly speaking it hasn't really been a cracker of an opening, as far as the new year is concerned for yours truly. Things have been at a low ebb on the personal front for more than a week now. But what really beat the living daylights out of me was the news of WorldSpace satellite Radio, which is part of WorldSpace Inc USA, terminating it's broadcast service in India on 31st Dec 2009. And the reason, financial difficulties of the parent company back in US, which has been under bankruptcy protection since October 2008.

Personally I am saddened beyond words. It's a huge blow. WorldSpace was like a personalized jukebox....you could play your kind of music at the press of a button 24 X 7 , 365 days a year.......ANYTIME YOU WANT, ANYTHING YOU NEED.

One thing is for sure, as far as Mr. Pundit is concerned, the Radio is not going to be the same again. Let's hope the company survives through these difficult times and manages to bounce back. I am sure there would be thousands if not millions like me, who would be eagerly waiting to tune into their favorite frequency again.
